Myth busted: ‘What size TV do I need?’

We are often asked, 'what size TV do I need?'

The short answer: there are no rules.

But it’s not that simple! Actually, yes, it is.

OK fine - you may still be stressing about choosing the right TV and size for your space. With the amount of advice and the number of TV options on the market, it can get complicated pretty quickly.

So kick back and relax and ask yourself these 3 questions to help guide you with the buying process.

1. Do I have room for all that screen?

Typically we search for a new TV because we want a bigger screen. TV sizes range from 32 - 100 inches. You may think that going up (or down) two inches won’t be that big of a difference, but it is! Grab your tape measurer and jot down your max measurements.

2. How do I improve my picture quality?

As you go up in size, you won’t want to compromise your picture quality. Check the description for these features:

  • 4K OLED

    • A 4k resolution delivers a smooth and clear picture, full of rich colors and detailed contrast. OLED technology will transform your home entertainment experience.

  • Backlighting

    • A critical element that determines the brightness of the picture and color accuracy.

  • A refresh rate of 60 Hz or 120 Hz

    • A higher refresh rate provides smoother motion for everything from movies and shows, to live sports and gaming.

3. Where will I be watching from?

It’s common to place TVs in spaces other than the living room. Since there are no rules (besides being able to reach a power outlet), it’s up to you to decide where it will go. Then, take a moment to envision using it in your space.

There are online calculators to determine what size you should get based on how far away you are sitting. If you’d like to do the math, here’s a standard calculation to use.
